All SCADA systems are special-built, in collaboration between Belvent A/S & Fyns Energiteknik A/S.
They feature an overview, constantly taking measures to make sure that the dehumidification is working optimally and constantly. It can then be remote-controlled to fix problems, as soon as they arise.
When working on such special projects as EWG are, we need to constantly think out of the box, or rather into a box. For the Hålogaland Bridge, we made the center of operations, a 40 foot container, containing all the essentials for the control of a dehumidification system for the longest Suspension Bridge within the arctic circle.
Appropriately called a FAT Container, or Factory Acceptance Tests Container. The container contains all of the mechanical equipment, together with all of the surveillance systems and controls. This meant that the container could be tested off-site and get approved, before it was installed on-site.
Another benefit of this new, innovative solution, was that the staff assigned to maintenance of the bridge, had the opportunity to be taught how to use the system, before it was installed on-site.
